Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

1lb  (454g) lean ground turkey
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup (125mL) crumbled light feta cheese
1/2 cup  (125mL) finely chopped red onion
2 cups (500ml) cooked spinach, squeezed dry and finely chopped
1 egg, beaten
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp  (15mL) Crisco® Canola or Vegetable Oil for grilling
6 mini pita breads (48g each)
1/3 cup (75mL) store bought tzatziki sauce
8 Bick’s® Sandwich Savers® 50% Less Salt Tangy Dill Pickles
Lettuce
Tomato
Red onion
1. Combine all ingredients and shape into 6 small patties. Preheat barbeque grill to high.

2. Lightly brush one side of patties with oil and place oiled side down on grill. Brush top sides with additional oil. Cook 3-5 minutes per side, or until an internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

3. Serve on mini pita breads and top with toppings.

Baking Time : 10 minutes
Freezing: excellent

Makes: 6 small burgers

Tip:
1. These burgers freeze really well, raw or cooked. To freeze them raw, wrap them individually in plastic wrap and then place in freezer bag. To cook from frozen, lightly oil them and place on hot grill. Add an additional 3-5 minutes cooking time per side.
