Sweet and Sour Barbecue Sauce

1 tbsp  (15mL) Crisco® Canola or Vegetable Oil
1 cup  (250mL) chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup  (50mL) packed brown sugar
½ cup (125mL) ketchup
¼ cup (50mL) lemon juice
1 tsp (5mL) worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp (15mL) Bick’s® Hot Pepper Relish
1 tsp (5mL) chipotle pepper sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat oil over medium heat in medium sized saucepan. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar and cook and stir until melted, about 1 minute.

2. Stir in remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and cook stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Puree if desired.

Preparation Time : 5 minutes
Baking Time : 4 minutes

Makes: 2/3 cup (150mL)
