Summertime Slaw

Coleslaw Mixture:
about 3 lbs (1.5 kg) 1 head cabbage, thinly sliced
2 cups (500mL) Bick’s® Dill Pickles - Garlic
3 carrots, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 green onions, sliced

Marinade:
½ cup (125mL) Bick’s® Dill Pickle Brine
½ cup (125mL) white vinegar
1/3 cup (75mL) sugar
¾ cup (175mL) Crisco® Vegetable or Canola Oil
1 tsp (5mL) salt
¼ tsp (1mL) pepper
1. Combine ingredients for coleslaw mixture in a large bowl. Reserve

2. Place marinade ingredients in a saucepan. Bring ingredients to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and pour hot marinade over coleslaw mixture. Mix well. Refrigerate.

Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Cooking Time : 10 minutes

Makes: 16 servings

Tip:
1. Make this at least one day ahead before serving.
2. This recipe will make a lot but it will keep 3-4 weeks in the refrigerator.
3. Serve as a side dish or use on top of burgers.
