SUNDAY NIGHT BBQ WITH THE FAMILY

Gather around the grill – for a weekly meal and a guaranteed good time!

Sunday dinner is a wonderful tradition in most families… and come summer, it's extra special, easy and delicious to move the meal outside! Planning dinner around the grill means everyone spends more time relaxing together. There's little mess in the kitchen and cooking can be a shared activity even the kids will hang around for!

Here are great tips for a successful Sunday barbecue along with mouth-watering recipe ideas:

Tips for a successful Sunday barbecue:

  • Keep it simple with everyday dinnerware and colourful napkins.
  • Make it pretty. Fresh cut flowers from the garden are a lovely way to dress up your table. Or, go al fresco and set the picnic table close to your flower garden! There are lots of flowers in bloom in July, including black eyed susans, lilies and sweet pea!
  • Light up your life. Outdoor lighting makes everything look nice… try patio lanterns, tea lights and citronella candles to keep the bugs away!
  • Go natural. Hardwood cutting boards are fabulous multi-taskers for serving appetizers, bread or the main course.
  • No fuss. Foods that you can grill to perfection allow you to mingle a bit too. Combine prepared foods with made-from-scratch dishes and make what you can ahead of time.
  • Eating with your hands is always casual and fun. Hamburgers, hotdogs, wings, pickles, bowls of chips... yum! In fact, a platter of different types of appetizer finger foods such as pickles, cut up carrots, etc., is a great way to occupy kids before dinner!
  • Have fun. Spending time with everyone in the family makes for a memorable event. Be sure to take pictures for your family albums.
